Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Everything you need to know about getting your pitch deck investor-ready

What do healthcare investors look for in a pitch deck?

Healthcare investors evaluate: clinical validation (evidence, studies, pilot data), regulatory pathway (FDA, HIPAA compliance), reimbursement strategy (who pays and how), provider adoption evidence, and team healthcare domain expertise.

Do I need clinical data to raise for a healthtech startup?

At pre-seed, investors want to see a clear clinical validation plan, not necessarily completed trials. By seed, you should have pilot data from at least 1-2 health systems. Evidence of clinical partnerships significantly de-risks the investment.

How do I address the reimbursement question in my pitch?

Show who pays (patient, provider, insurer, employer), your pricing model, and CPT/billing codes if applicable. The #1 healthtech pitch mistake is building a product no one has budget to buy. Map your revenue to existing healthcare spending categories.

What regulatory pathway should I present to investors?

Clearly state whether you need FDA clearance (510(k), De Novo, PMA), are exempt, or are a wellness product. Include your timeline and cost estimates. HIPAA compliance should be table stakes, not a feature. Show you've done the regulatory homework.

How big is the digital health market?

Digital health is a $300B+ market growing 15-20% annually. But investors want specific TAM: which healthcare segment, what budget line item, and how many potential customers. "Healthcare is a $4T market" tells investors nothing about your actual opportunity.
