Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Everything you need to know about getting your pitch deck investor-ready

What MRR do SaaS seed investors expect?

Seed SaaS investors typically want $10-50K MRR with 10-15% month-over-month growth. More important than absolute MRR is the quality: annual contracts > monthly, low logo churn, and evidence of expansion revenue within accounts.

What LTV:CAC ratio is needed for a SaaS seed round?

A LTV:CAC ratio of 3:1 or higher signals a fundable SaaS business. Below 2:1, investors worry about sustainability. Above 5:1, they may question whether you're underinvesting in growth. Also important: CAC payback period under 12-18 months.

How important is net revenue retention at seed?

Net revenue retention (NRR) above 100% is extremely compelling at seed — it means you're growing without acquiring new customers. Even 90-100% NRR is acceptable at seed stage. Below 80% signals a retention problem that growth can't fix.

What churn rate will concern SaaS seed investors?

Monthly logo churn above 5% is a red flag for B2B SaaS. Revenue churn should be lower due to expansion. If your churn is high, show it's improving month-over-month and explain why (pricing changes, ICP refinement, product improvements).

How should I structure my SaaS seed raise?

Most SaaS seed rounds are $1.5-3M at $8-15M valuations. Structure as a priced round (Series Seed) or SAFE at this stage. Use of funds should clearly map to growth milestones: hitting $100K MRR, reducing churn below 3%, and building the sales team.
